"They Forced Me To Buy It": Musk's Post On Twitter Deal Sparks Meme Fest
Billionaire Elon Musk stunned the world when he announced that he is buying Twitter. The $44 billion acquisition was completed in October last year and since then, the billionaire has made numerous changes to the microblogging platform. The app has witnessed changes in its interface along and introduction of Twitter Blue, a paid verification service. He has also faced flak for firing dozens of employees and selling furniture from Twitter headquarters to cut costs. Many people have questioned Tesla CEO why he bought Twitter. This time, Mr Musk posted a funny reply to the question, saying he was "forced" to buy the company. He tweeted this in response to a meme, which shows Mr Musk laughing along with the text "They said I could never Twitter".
The meme was shared by Doge Designer, a page that shared memes on the billionaire. The caption of the post reads, "The mainstream media still can't believe that Elon bought Twitter @elonmusk."
Responding to the same, the "Chief Twit" said, "They forced me to buy it" along with a laughing emoji.

Since being shared, the billionaire's tweet has amassed a lot of attention.
"No a legally binding, poorly thought out, overly expensive offer by you forced you to buy it," said a user.
"I wish you had bought it earlier," another person added.
A third person said, "Maybe they should now say you can't buy @ManUtd..."
— Ash Brinkmeyer (@sumbunnysumhare) February 28, 2023
"Makes me wonder if they knew what you would find once you owned it," said another person.
This is not the first time Mr Musk has commented on his new acquisition. A few weeks ago, he had said that he could not believe that he bought the platform.

He revealed this while responding to a user's tweet. Whole Mars Catalog tweeted, "haha I still can't believe Elon bought Twitter." Replying to the user, the billionaire said, "Me neither." In another tweet, he added, "Sucks that I had to sell so much Tesla stock to do so (sigh)."

Sona Mohapatra Blew Twitter Up By Asking "What's Shehnaaz Gill's Talent?"
Sona Mohapatra is not at all happy with Shehnaaz Gill. The singer, in a series of tweets, has criticised Shehnaaz after fans praised her “act of respect” at an award show. Shehnaaz was about to sing when she heard the azan prayer. She decided to delay the performance. While fans liked the gesture, Sona Mohapatra wasn't impressed. In her post, the singer wrote about Shehnaaz's support for #MeToo accused and Bigg Boss 16 contestant Sajid Khan. Back then, Shehnaaz, in a video message, wished the filmmaker all the best for the show. “Meri support aapke sath hai. All the best! Rock it brother. [You have my support, brother] Keep entertaining us and please don't fight,” she can be heard saying in a clip shared on Twitter. Pointing at Shehnaaz's video, Sona Mohapatra wrote, “All the Twitter adulation for Shehnaaz Gill's act of ‘respect' today reminded me of her [Shehnaaz] ‘support', ‘reverence' and ‘glorification' of a multiple accused sex offender and pervert Sajid Khan when he was platformed on National TV. I Wish she had some respect for her sisterhood.” The singer, in the hashtag, added “#MeToo.” Sona Mohapatra shared her #MeToo story in 2018 when the movement was at its peak in India. Back then, she accused playback singer Kailash Kher and music composer Anu Malik of sexual misconduct.

Sona Mohapatra also came up with a reply for those who were trolling her for the Shehnaaz Gill comments. The singer said that she doesn't know “what Shehnaz's particular talent is as of now, apart from low-brow reality TV fame.” She tweeted, “Dear trolls trying to stand up for yet another starlet like Jacqueline, I don't know what Shehnaz's particular talent is as of now, apart from low-brow reality TV fame. But I do know the modus operandi of women of convenience, shortcuts who bust the good fight for a role/money.”

In a follow-up post, Sona Mohapatra added, “Do also share such details dear news portals using my tweet to advertise/amplify the Shehnaaz starlet next new movie with the multiple #MeToo accused Sajid Khan. Using my tweets as PR pegs for your publicity dear Bollywood is an old trope and one that I recognise well.”
Sona Mohapatra also said that she has “dealt with much worse in the past.” Her tweet read, “Whoever is the ‘SM agency', please know that while I don't have 1 who pays a bunch to harass your client in return, I have dealt with much worse in the past. Gangs who were on the payroll of the Bigg Boss himself? Invest to continue the fake trend Shehnaaz Wins Lokmat Award instead.”

"My Wife Was Unconscious": Wasim Akram Shares Scary 'Chennai Airport Tale'
One of the finest pace bowlers in the history of cricket, Wasim Akram is a name that needs no introduction in the cricketing spectrum. The former Pakistan speedster enjoys a great fan following all across the world. But, if there's one country where Akram is loved the most after Pakistan, it would arguably be India. It was this love for the cricketer that saw his late wife receive urgent medical treatment in 2009, and Akram couldn't me more thankful to the Indian people.
In a chat with Sportstar, Akram revealed a chilling tale from 2009 when his flight had to land in Chennai but the cricketer and his wife didn't have visas for the country.
Akram revealed how his wife was unconscious when the flight landed, and the medical team there took her to a hospital despite them not having valid visas.
"I was flying to Singapore with my late wife and there was a stop in Chennai for refueling. When he landed, she was unconscious, I was crying and people recognized me at the airport. We didn't have an Indian visa. We both had Pakistani passports. The people at the Chennai airport, the security forces, and the customs and immigration officials told me not to worry about the visa and take my wife to the hospital while they sort the visa out. That is something I will never forget, as a cricketer and as a human being," he revealed.
Akram also recalled some fond memories from the 1999 Chennai Test.
"The Chennai Test is very special to me... It was very hot and the pitch was bare, which suited us because we relied on reverse-swing. We also had one of the best spinners at the time in Saqlain Mushtaq. Nobody could pick the doosra delivery that he had invented at the time.
"Sachin [Tendulkar] played him well after the first innings. Every time he bowled the doosra, Sachin went for the lap shot just behind the 'keeper. A very odd shot to play against the off-spinners doosra but he mastered it and that's why Sachin was one of the greatest of all time," Akram said.

After Roald Dahl, James Bond Books Edited To Remove 'Offensive' References
Racist phrases have been removed from the original James Bond novels from the 1950s and 1960s following a sensitivity review, as per a report in the Telegraph. In April, fresh installments of Ian Fleming's well-known book series will be made available to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the author's first novel "Casino Royale", which was initially published in 1953.
Terms such as the n-word, which featured in those decades have been edited in the novels. In the novels which were released between 1951 and 1966, the commonly derogatory term for Black people has been almost fully replaced by "Black person" or "Black man".
However, references to other ethnicities, such as an expression for east Asian people and Bond's mocking views of Oddjob, Goldfinger's Korean henchman, still remain. Apart from this, references to the "sweet tang of rape", "blithering women" failing to do a "man's work" and homosexuality being a "stubborn disability" are still present in the books.
As per the outlet, Mr Bond's assessment of Africans working in the gold and diamond markets in "Live and Let Die" (1954) has been changed to "pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought" from "pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought, except when they've drunk too much".
Each book will also carry the disclaimer, "This book was written at a time when terms and attitudes which might be considered offensive by modern readers were commonplace. A number of updates have been made in this edition, while keeping as close as possible to the original text and the period in which it is set."
Also Read: Roald Dahl's Original Books To Be Published By Penguin Amid Censorship Backlash
According to the Telegraph, the move comes after an assessment of the James Bond series by sensitive readers which was commissioned by Ian Fleming Publications, the company that controls the rights to the author's writing.
Ian Fleming Publications told the outlet, "We at Ian Fleming Publications reviewed the text of the original Bond books and decided our best course of action was to follow Ian's lead. We have made changes to Live and Let Die that he himself authorised."
"Following Ian's approach, we looked at the instances of several racial terms across the books and removed a number of individual words or else swapped them for terms that are more accepted today but in keeping with the period in which the books were written," they said.

On the second day at the box office, the movie earned Rs 3.80 crore, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The total now stands at Rs 6.35 crore. On the first day of its release, the movie earned just Rs 2.55 crore. "#Selfiee struggles on Day 2... The big jump - so essential after a disastrous start - is clearly missing... The poor biz continues to shock, sadden and demoralise the industry... Fri 2.55 cr, Sat 3.80 cr. Total: Rs 6.35 cr+. #India biz," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

Helmed by Raj Mehta, the movie also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in pivotal roles. The movie is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving Licence, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, wrote, "Script isn't King inSelfiee. It is an unabashed Akshay Kumar show. The star leaves absolutely nothing to chance. He stamps himself on everything that the vapid film has on offer. The narrative (derived from the late Sachy's screenplay) is tweaked and stretched to make space for an actor in search of a hit. But nothing clicks."

19-Year-Old In China Diagnosed With Alzheimer's Disease
A 19-year-old in China has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease becoming the youngest case of the condition ever reported, according to a report in the South China Morning Post.
According to researchers at Beijing's Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, the man's memory rapidly deteriorated over a two-year period. It had reached a stage that he was unable to recall recent events or the locations of his belongings. The patient showed symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, such as memory loss and hippocampal atrophy, which is regarded as an early sign of the disease. His illness forced him to drop out of high school early and made him slower at reading and responding, SCMP added.
The study of the researchers was later published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Alzheimer's Disease on January 31, 2023. "The study proposed to pay attention to the early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Exploring the mysteries of young people with Alzheimer's disease may become one of the most challenging scientific questions of the future," they authors said in the paper.
According to the authors, almost all Alzheimer's patients under the age of 30 have pathological gene mutations. The youngest person ever diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease was a 21-year-old who also carried a gene mutation.
"This is the youngest case ever reported to meet the diagnostic criteria for probable Alzheimer's disease without recognised genetic mutations," the authors said in the study.
Also Read: Nose Picking Could Put You At A Risk Of Alzheimer's And Dementia, Says Study
Furthermore, the authors also added that the results of the teenager on the widely used auditory verbal learning test were abnormal, which assessed immediate recall, short-delay free recall, long-delay free recall and long-delay recognition. All of this suggested that his memory was significantly impaired.
According to George Perry, the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, the rare case is also prompting researchers to reconsider the "nature" of dementia. "This case brings attention to the heterogeneous nature of dementia that can involve people at any age. Finding a 19-year-old (with probable Alzheimer's disease) moves the issue from middle-age onset (current concept) to early adulthood," Mr Perry concluded.

Watch: "Am I Their Coach?" - Irritated Babar's Sharp Retort To Journalist
Pakistan cricket skipper Babar Azam is well known for his witty answers during press conferences and he was in full form after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. Babar played for Karachi Kings till the last edition of the tournament before making a move to Zalmi and a reporter decided to ask him a question about his connection with the franchise. Karachi Kings have struggled to perform well this year and when asked about what changes the team can potentially make, Babar had a straight answer for the reporter.

"Main unka coach thodi hu? Aapse mujhse puch rahe hai unke baare mein. Aj ke match ki baat karte hai (Am I their coach? Why are you asking me about them? let's talk about today's match)," he said.
The answer reminded fans of a similar interaction between India skipper Rohit Sharma and a Pakistani journalist. The right-handed batsman was asked about how Pakistan batters can improve and he quickly responded to the question - “Agar main Pakistan ka coach bana to main bataunga, abhi kya bataunga (If I become the coach of Pakistan, I can tell. What will I say now).”
Babar was the top-scorer for his side with a brilliant half-century but was unable to guide Peshawar Zalmi to victory over Islamabad United. Hasan Ali produced a brilliant spell of bowling to stop Zalmi from scoring big and in response, Rahmanullah Gurbaz slammed 62 off just 31 deliveries to hand Zalmi a crushing six-wicket defeat.

First Time In 145 Years! Brook Surpasses Legends To Claim Historic Feat
Harry Brook has emerged as a consistent performer for England in the past year and the right-hander continued to impress everyone with a brilliant century on Day 1 of the second Test against New Zealand. Brook, who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderbad for Rs 13.25 crore, was unbeaten on 184 off 169 deliveries. Thanks to this innings, the England youngster became the first batsman in history to score 800 runs after just 9 Test innings. Previously, the record for most runs after 9 Test innings belonged to India's Vinod Kambli (798) but Brook took his tally to 807 on Friday. He also went past legends like Herbert Sutcliffe (780 runs in nine innings), Sunil Gavaskar (778 runs in nine innings) and Everton Weekes (777 runs in nine innings) to add a massive milestone to his name.
Joe Root was unbeaten on a classy 101 as the tourists rampaged their way to 315-3 before rain ended the opening day of the series decider early.
The 24-year-old came to the crease with England wobbling at 21-3 inside the first seven overs.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl on a green wicket.
That decision paid instant reward as New Zealand quickly dismissed England's top order of Zak Crawley (two), Ben Duckett (nine) and Ollie Pope (10).
Matt Henry and skipper Tim Southee did the early damage for the hosts under expectedly blue skies.
Henry, back after missing the first Test with the birth of his child, forced Crawley into being caught behind as the opener's sticky run continued.
All-rounder Michael Bracewell then made two superb catches in the slips to first dismiss Pope, then Duckett.
The dismissal of Duckett following Bracewell's diving catch gave Southee a 700th international wicket in all formats, becoming the first New Zealander to reach the milestone.
However, it then became the Brook show as he took his Test average to just over 100 in only his sixth match.
Brook was player of the match in the first Test with back-to-back half centuries to help England to a 267-run win.
He continued the remarkable start to his England Test career with a magnificent unbeaten knock laced with 24 fours and give sixes. His 184 came off 169 balls.
Alongside former skipper Root, he helped steer England out of trouble to 101-3 at lunch.
There was no let-up in the afternoon as Brook added to his three previous centuries against Pakistan in December.
Root was more steady but no less decisive, slapping his 29th Test century but first in eight Tests.
England, who have won 10 of their last 11 Tests under the attacking cricket of coach Brendon McCullum, stuck with the same team that convincingly won the opening game.
New Zealand made two changes with Will Young and Henry replacing Scott Kuggeleijn and Blair Tickner.

Watch: Massive Landslide In Peru, Boulders Fall Inches Away From Cars
Peru has been witnessing landslides triggered by heavy rains since the beginning of February. This has resulted in the death of several people while many are reported missing across the country. Recently, a video of a massive landslide on a narrow road in Peru has gone viral and has shocked many on the internet.
In the footage released on February 22 from Pausa, hundreds of tonnes of rubble from a mountain is crashing down the slope. However, the people present at the highway seem unperturbed. Rather than moving away from the rock, some of them are standing and watching the landslide. Surprisingly, one of the locals is also seen rushing towards his minibus to get his smartphone to record the event. It is to be noted that the cars and other vehicles present on the highway were just inches away from the rock.
The video of the incident has been released by Viral Press and distributed by AP.
As per the Peruvian officials, many landslides caused by recent heavy rains in the country blocked the national PE-32C highway. Later, heavy equipment was brought in to remove the area of the fallen rock. The Ministry of Transport and Communications provided emergency support for the cleanup while the National Emergency Operations Centre (COEN) kept an eye on the situation.
According to Viral Press, two miners who were working in the Puno district of southeast Peru were killed after a rock fell on them. At least 18 people were killed after being swept away by a landslide near the mines in the Arequipa Region. Many were also reported injured.

Rani Mukherjee's New Film Is Based On This Indian Couple's Story
It's been more than a decade since the infamous battle of an Indian couple fighting for the custody of two children with the Norway government took the world by storm.
The year was 2011, when the Norway child welfare service, also called Barnevarne, took away Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya's two children and placed them in foster care. Now the couple's struggle and their fight against an entire nation to reunite with their children has been made into a movie starring Rani Mukherjee.
'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway' is set to release on March 17, this year, almost 12 years after Sagarika's ordeal began.
What Happened With Mr and Mrs Bhattacharya?
In May 2011, Anurup and Sagarika lost custody of their toddlers - three-year-old Avigyan and one-year-old daughter Aishwarya - after Norwegian authorities objected to her hand-feeding the baby equating it to force-feeding.
Charges against the parents in Norway included a slap by Sagarika Bhattacharya - just once - and that the children did not have enough room to play. They were also accused of providing "unsuitable" clothes and toys to their children.
Norway's Child Protective Service took equal objection to the child sleeping in the same bed as the father, insisting the boy must have an independent bed.
After a diplomatic row between the two countries, the Norwegian authorities decided to award the custody of the children to the brother of their father, enabling him to bring them back to India.
However, by then Anurup and Sagarika were estranged. Sagarika had to take legal remedies to get custody of her children. After a lengthy legal battle, Sagarika was able to take her children home.
What did Mrs Bhattacharya tell NDTV?
She was granted custody of her son Abhigyan and her daughter Aishwarya by the Calcutta High Court in January 2013.
After winning the custody battle, Sagarika in an interview with NDTV in 2013 said, "It's a huge relief and I want to convey my regards to my well-wishers." She added, "My ordeal is finally over. I cannot express my emotions, because I couldn't meet my children for a long time. I just pray to God that children can always stay with me."

'Can't Replicate What They Do': Australia Great Hails Ashwin-Jadeja Duo
Australia batters have miserably failed in their attempt to tackle India's spin-bowling duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. So far in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Jadeja and Ashwin have bagged 31 of the 40 Australian wickets. On the other hand, the Australian spinners -- Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy and Matt Kuhnemann -- haven't been able to create the same impact. Former Australia captain Ian Chappell has pointed out how opposition spinners often try to replicate the skillset of Ashwin and Jadeja, but haven't tasted similar success.
"Too often they (opposition spinners) do try and replicate the skillset (of Aswin and Jadeja). Talking about Ashwin and Jadeja... They know exactly what to do in India. Ashwin is a damn fine bowler, doesn't matter where he bowls. I've seen him bowl in Australia, he bowled extremely well. He is also very smart. He works out exactly what he's gotta do. Jadeja doesn't vary too much although he has learned a few things and has improved his bowling but he's got the skillset that is perfect for India and the two of them work together," Chappell said on ESPNcricinfo.
Chappell believes Lyon should not try to bowl like Ashwin and should try to find success in his own way instead.
"In this game, I thought Ashwin bowled bloody well but Jadeja got the seven wickets but that's the way it happens some days. I don't think you can come and replicate what they do. Nathan Lyon is not R Ashwin, he's got to bowl like Nathan Lyon and he has tried to do that," he added.

"Didn't Know This Was Press Conference": Waugh In On-Air Spat With Karthik
Former Australia skipper Mark Waugh was involved in a spat with out-of-favour India player Dinesh Karthik on Sunday. Both the former internationals -- who are part of the official broadcaster's commentary panel for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy -- differed with each other's opinions. It all started with Waugh's dissatisfaction with the field set by Australia skipper Pat Cummins during the fourth innings of the second Test match between India and Australia in New Delhi. Back-to-back counter questions from Karthik to Waugh irked the Australian star before he lost his cool and Sanjay Manjrekar had to intervene to calm things down.
Waugh opined that instead of a deep point for Pujara, Cummins should have brought the fielder nearer to the batter to pack the off side.
To this, Karthik questioned: "So you are unhappy with the field. There is nobody for Rohit Sharma, you are okay with that. Would you do the same as a captain?"
Mark Waugh replied: " I am not talking about Rohit Sharma, he is a completely different player DK."
"... We obviously think different.. but I want to pack that off side for Pujara, think there is a big chance of getting, squeezing one there," Waugh said.
"I want to pack that offside, have my point up, have the catching cover stay there... reasonable field," he added
Karthik didn't back off and said: "Really, you don't think he would have found the trap in that one. He had time."
Annoyed by Karthik's counter questions, Waugh said: "I didn't know this was a press conference. You are going to get one question per session, right?"
This is when Sanjay Manjrekar intervened to Waugh. "Okay, I am going to step in here," said the former India cricketer and read out the score.
Talking about the game, India defeated Australia by six wickets in the Delhi Test to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series. Chasing a target of 115 in the fourth innings, the Rohit Sharma-led side comfortably reached home, thanks to Cheteshwar Pujara's unbeaten 31.

Hairdresser By Day, "Drone Hunter" By Night Helps Defend Ukraine's Skies
A hairdresser by day and a "drone hunter" by night, Oleksandr Shamshur, 41, is among tens of thousands of volunteers helping defend the skies over Ukraine against Russian attacks.
As the Feb. 24 first anniversary of Russia's invasion nears, Ukraine is becoming increasingly adept at shooting down Russian missiles and drones fired at cities far from the front lines, and Shamshur takes pride in his own role.
Members of his territorial defence unit, including a lawyer and a businessman, respond to air raid alerts in and around the capital Kyiv by seeking to down Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones with a restored World War Two machine gun.
"I am a very happy person. Why? Because I am defending my country, I am defending our Ukrainian people," Shamshur said as he combed the capital's moonlit skyline through a thermal camera with a range finder from his position on a rooftop.
Nearby, a fellow fighter was adjusting the green barrels of the Soviet-made "Maxim" machine gun.
"But at the same time I can come to the beauty salon and work with the people, do the work I know, cut hair and talk to clients," said Shamshur.
He said it never occurred to him as a civilian to "run away and hide somewhere" when tens of thousands of Russian armoured forces entered into a stunned Ukraine last winter and began bombarding Kyiv and other cities.
"With the enemy at the doorstep, I had to do something, I had to act in defence," he said.
During the night of Dec. 29-30, Shamshur said, his rooftop unit shot down two drones over Kyiv. His team have also passed on the skills they have learned to other units.
Shamshur sports several badges on his camouflage uniform, including one, "Drone Hunters", in English, and another in Ukrainian reading "Ronin" - a feudal Japanese warrior - that he has adopted as his nom-de-guerre.
When Russia invaded, Shamshur - an army reservist before the war - learned that his military base had already been destroyed by Russian shelling so he joined territorial defences, initially delivering food to civilians and helping evacuate people.
At work in his salon, still wearing military khaki as he styled a client's hair, he said he tries not to talk to his clients about the war, calling it "dark" in contrast to the "light" in the peaceful part of his life.
