Box Office: Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Witnesses Growth At Rs 25.75 Crore

Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan witnessed "remarkable growth" on the second day at the box office. The movie on Saturday earned Rs 25.75 crore, tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Kisi Ka Bhai Kis Ki Jaan's two days earring now stands at Rs 4.56 crore. On the first day, the movie earned only Rs 15.81 crore. "#SalmanKhan's superstardom is on display as #KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan witnesses remarkable growth on Day 2 [#Eid]... Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, directed by Farhad Samji, also stars Venkatesh, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav, Siddharth Nigam, Bhumika Chawla, Jassie Gill and Palak Tiwari. 

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee in his review for NDTV gave 1 star out of 5 and wrote, "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a travesty of gigantic proportions no matter what geography you belong to, what history you believe in and what you think cinema should be. A bad film is a bad film. KKBKKJ is beyond bad."

Marathon Runner Poops In Stranger's Yard, Internet Says "Stinky Runner!"

A grainy footage has surfaced on the internet which shows an unidentified Boston marathon runner apparently pooping on a stranger's lawn. The incident was captured on a doorbell camera dated April 17.

The video shows the marathon runner squatting down in the corner of someone's front lawn in order to relieve themselves during the 26.2-mile race. However, the runner was interrupted by a man who walked into the yard and appeared to have an awkward exchange with the marathon runner.

The marathon runner quickly stands up, pulls up the shorts and rejoins the race.

According to New York Post, more than 30,000 marathoners partook in the annual run from Hopkinton, Mass. to downtown Boston.

The viral video was posted on Twitter and the caption of the video read, "Boston marathon runner pooped in someone's yard today."

After Pamela Chopra's Death, SRK, Katrina-Vicky Visit Aditya Chopra

The wife of legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, Pamela Chopra, died on Thursday at the age of 74. The news of her death was confirmed on Twitter by lyricist Javed Akhtar. Family and friends from the film fraternity arrived at Pamela Chopra's son Aditya Chopra's house in Juhu to pay their last respect. Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan arrived at the premises with his son Aryan Khan. The superstar was clicked as he made his way inside the house. Others visiting the family included Karan Johar, Manisha Koirala, Poonam Dhillon, Bollywood choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, Shraddha Kapoor, to name a few. Katrina Kaif, who has worked with late Yash Chopra in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, visited Aditya Chopra's house with her husband Vicky Kaushal. Hrithik Roshan, who has been a part of YRF's Dhoom series, was also clicked at the residence of the producer. Hrithik Roshan also happens to Aditya Chopra's childhood friend.

The official Twitter handle of the YRF shared the news of her death earlier in the day. Their post read, "With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 AM today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection."

According to PTI, Pamela Chopra was being treated for Pneumonia for the past few days at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. "She passed away today early morning due to pneumonia with ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome). She had been admitted to the hospital for 15 days in the ICU," Dr Prahlad Prabhudesai told the news agency.

Pamela Chopra was last seen in the Netflix documentary The Romantics, where she spoke about her late husband. Pamela Chopra is survived by sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra. Aditya Chopra is married to Rani Mukerji.

Adipurush Trends For "Updated VFX" And Not In A Good Way. Memes Incoming

Prabhas and Kriti Sanon's Adipurush is trending and how. After all, the film will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival, New York, on June 13. The announcement was made by Kriti Sanon on Instagram. The actress said that she is “beyond thrilled.”  Tribeca too has shared a video announcing the “feature film lineup” for the upcoming film festival. The montage features clippings of films that will be screened. Well, fans didn't miss the part which featured Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. They have also noticed the change in colour grade. For those who don't know, the makers, in October last year, faced backlash from many on social media after Adipurush's teaser was released. From calling the teaser's VFX "poor" to "Sasta version of Game Of Thrones," social media users have been trolling it since the day of its release. Now, fans were quick to spot the difference and shared their review on Twitter.

Youth Congress Chief Srinivas BV Accused Of Harassment By Colleague

Former Assam Youth Congress chief Angkita Dutta has accused the party's youth wing's national president Srinivas BV and other leaders of sexism and harassment.

Speaking to NDTV, Ms Dutta levelled serious charges against Mr Srinivas who has sent a criminal defamation notice to her for allegedly using "unparliamentary and defamatory" words against him.

"This (harassment) has been happening repeatedly," Ms Dutta told NDTV. "I had filed a complaint within the Indian Youth Congress but nothing has happened.

"One Youth Congress leader comes to Assam and addresses me as 'ladki' (girl) and not as Dr Dutta or Angkita. Then in Chhattisgarh, at an Indian Youth Congress session in a hotel, another Youth Congress leader asked me 'Do you drink vodka or tequila?'" Ms Dutta alleged.

Refuting the allegations, the Indian Youth Congress on Tuesday accused Ms Dutta of using "utterly unparliamentary, undignified, defamatory, malicious words" against its national in-charge and other members of the Indian Youth Congress.

"Dr Dutta has resorted to using utterly unparliamentary, undignified, defamatory, malicious words against Srinivas BV and has levelled totally sexist, chauvinistic, false, frivolous allegations against him. The IYC legal cell has taken strong, stringent legal action and therefore Srinivas BV has sent a criminal defamation notice to Dr Angkita Dutta in view of the same," a statement from the youth wing read.

Ms Dutta, daughter of former Assam minister Anjan Dutta, also questioned party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for not taking action against Mr Srinivas.

"How can a sexist and chauvinistic lead @IYC torture and demean a woman every single time? What happened to @priyankagandhi's 'ladki hoon, ladk sakti hoon' (I am a girl and can fight)?" Ms Dutta tweeted.

Jet Airways CEO Reveals He Stopped Using Apple Products In 2020

Tech giant Apple opened its first retail store in India in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex area today. Excited Apple fans were seen making long queues outside the store several hours ahead of the grand opening. However, Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor on Tuesday shared that he was once an Apple user but now he is ''solidly a Windows and Android guy.''

Mr. Kapoor also shared a throwback photo with a Macintosh and wrote that he used his first Apple product in 1986, when all the students at his ivy league college, Dartmouth, were issued Apple Macintoshes. However, he gave up Apple products almost three years ago in 2020. He used his last Apple product in 2020 before switching from iTunes to Spotify.

However, Kapoor did not reveal the reason behind the switch.

Meanwhile, apart from the Mumbai store, Apple will launch another one in New Delhi on April 20.  The stores' launch comes as Apple celebrates more than 25 years in India. On Monday, the company said its first two stores in the country mark a major expansion plan for the company.

"This week, as Apple celebrates more than 25 years in India, the company is marking a major expansion with the opening of its first Apple Store locations in the country, along with new environmental initiatives and a key milestone in the rapidly growing community of Indian developers," the company said in a statement.

Apple exports from India are estimated to have crossed USD 5 billion in the financial year 2022-23 which is about half of the total exports of "Made In India" phones.

31 From Karnataka Stuck In Sudan As Violence Kills Nearly 200

At least 31 people from Karnataka are stuck in Sudan after intense fighting between the country's army and paramilitaries left nearly 200 dead and 1,800 wounded.

The Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) said they have informed the External Affairs Ministry and are following up with the Indian Embassy in Sudan to speed up the rescue process. 

"We have got a message that a group of  31 persons hailing from Karnataka are stranded in Sudan. We have informed MEA of this. We have asked the group to follow the instructions of the Indian embassy in Sudan. As of now stranded should be stay wherever they are and not to venture out. MEA is seized of the matter and is working on it," Dr Manoj Rajan, Commissioner, KSDMA, said. 

Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Home Ministry and the External Affairs Ministry to intervene and rescue those stranded. 

"It is reported that 31 people from Karnataka belonging to Hakki Pikki tribe, are stranded in Sudan which is troubled by civil war. I urge @PMOIndia @narendramodi, @HMOIndia, @MEAIndia and @BSBommai to immediately intervene & ensure their safe return," Mr Siddaramaiah wrote on Twitter.

"Hakki Pikkis in Sudan are left stranded without food since the last few days & the govt is yet to initiate action to bring them back. @BJP4India govt should immediately open diplomatic discussions & reach out to international agencies to ensure the well-being of Hakki Pikkis," Mr Siddaramaiah added.

It is reported that 31 people from Karnataka belonging to Hakki Pikki tribe, are stranded in Sudan which is troubled by civil war.

An Indian national working in Sudan died of a bullet injury on Sunday. Soon after the outbreak of violence in Sudan, the Indian embassy on Monday issued a fresh advisory urging Indians not to venture out of their residences and stay calm.

On Saturday, Sudan woke up to explosions and gunfire after the culmination of a weeks-long power struggle between two generals who seized power in the country following a military coup in 2021. The two generals - Abdel Fattah al-Burhan who is the chief of Sudan's army and Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, commander of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) - are former allies.

The two joined forces and worked together to topple former Sudan President Omar al-Bashir in 2019 and were instrumental in the 2021 military coup. 

However, negotiations to integrate RSF into Sudan's military as part of plans to restore civilian rule in the country turned hostile when questions arose on who would command whom in the new regime.

On Camera, Indore Businessman Fires In Air During Fight Over Garbage

An Indore-based businessman fired in the air and threatened to shoot sanitation workers -- all over garbage.

Mahesh Patel, a petrol pump owner and a relative of a former BJP MLA in Madhya Pradesh, now faces a police complaint filed by sanitation workers of the local civic body.

The episode, a video of which has now gone viral, took place on Saturday when sanitation workers were outside Mr Patel's home to collect garbage. An altercation broke out between Mr Patel's wife and the sanitation workers because dry and wet waste had not been segregated. The argument soon escalated and Mr Patel and his son joined in.

At one point, the businessman went inside. He was then seen on the first floor, brandishing a gun and threatening the sanitation workers. Soon, he came downstairs and pointed the gun at them. The sanitation workers then fled the scene.

The video of the incident shows Mr Patel pointing the gun at the sanitation workers as his son abuses them and threatens to bury them alive.

A police officer later reached the spot and brokered an understanding between the two sides. The matter, however, did not end there. Members of an association of drivers operating garbage vans approached police with the sanitation workers who were threatened and filed a written complaint.

Police have been accused of not taking action in the matter because the businessman is a relative of former BJP legislator Manoj Patel.

After the video circulated through social media, senior police officer Ashish Mishra assured action in the matter. "We are looking into the matter to understand what exactly happened. We are trying to contact the complainant," he said.

Amid Rumours Of Saudi's Offer To IPL Owners, BCCI Official Reacts: Report

After reports emerged on Friday, that the Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners has an offer from Saudi Arabia to set up the "world's richest T20 league" in the country, a new report has quoted an anonymous BCCI official as saying that top Indian cricketers will not be released for any such league. At present, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) bars Indian players from participating in leagues abroad. However, a proposal from the Saudi Arabian government over a new T20 league being set up there could see the Indian board change its stance on the matter.

As per a report in The Age, the talks have been going on over the subject for about a year. But, before anything substantial can happen, the league would need to be sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Not too long ago, ICC chairman Greg Barclay had confirmed Saudi Arabian interest in cricket.

"If you look at other sports they've been involved in, cricket is something I imagine would be attractive to them," he said. "Given their advance into sport more generally, cricket would work quite well for Saudi Arabia."

However, a report in The Indian Express, quoted a BCCI official as saying that no top Indian cricketers would be taking part in any of the leagues. However, franchise participation can't be stopped said the official. 

"No current Indian players will be taking part in any of the leagues, but as far as franchise participation is concerned, we can't stop them, a top BCCI official told The Indian Express. "It's their individual decision. We have seen IPL franchises going to South Africa or Dubai and we can't say no. It's their choice to have their team in any of the leagues around the world."

Astrophotographer Captures 60,000-Mile-Tall 'Plasma Waterfall' On The Sun

Argentina-based astronomer Eduardo Schaberger Poupeau captured a structure that looked like a plasma waterfall on the surface of the sun. The pictures of the sun were clicked by the astrophotographer on March 9, it shows an enormous wall of plasma falling down toward the sun's surface at fast speeds, according to LiveScience.

Mr Poupeau used specialised camera equipment to capture the striking image. The plasma wall "rose some 100,000 km (62,000 miles) above the solar surface," Mr Poupeau told Spaceweather.com. That is as tall as around eight Earth stacked on top of one another.

He added, "On my computer screen, it looked like hundreds of threads of plasma were dripping down a wall."

Well, according to reports these structures have been seen on the sun many times before. They frequently appear in rings around the sun's poles, and are called "polar crown prominences (PCP)."

According to LiveScience, PCPs are similar to normal solar prominences, which are loops of plasma, or ionized gas, that is ejected from the solar surface by magnetic fields. However, PCPs occur near the sun's magnetic poles at latitudes between 60 and 70 degrees North and South, which often causes them to collapse back towards the sun because the magnetic fields near the poles are much stronger, according to NASA. This collapse back to the sun has earned them the nickname "plasma waterfalls."

"Instead of Northern Lights, however, the sun's ovals are filled with dancing sheets of plasma," per a NASA blog post.

Space.com says that the plasma is falling back down at tremendous speeds - up to 22,370 mph.

"What Do I Say To That?": Pooja Hegde On Rumous She Is Dating Salman

Pooja Hegde, who stars opposite Salman Khan in the upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, in a recent interview with ETimes, dismissed the rumours that she is dating Salman Khan. "What do I say to that? I keep reading things about me," she told ETimes. Pooja also clarified that she is currently single and added, "I am single. I love being single. I am genuinely concentrating on my career right now. I am hoping from one city to the other city, that's my goal right now. I can't even sit and address these rumours anymore because what do I do now?"

Rumours about Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde first surfaced when the superstar was pictured at Pooja's brother Rishabh Hegde's wedding in Hyderabad. Pooja's family also danced to Salman's song Chote Chote Bhaiyon Ke Bade Bhaiya from his 1999 film Hum Saath - Saath Hain.
