Traffic disruptions are expected on the Delhi Express highway for 10 hours today as the route is blocked today between Kherkhi Dhaulla toll plaza and Hero Motor Chowk by protestors who are demanding that the Indian Army make an Ahir caste regiment. The samyukt Ahir Regiment Morcha has been protesting for a month for this long standing demand. Caste and religion based regiments already exist in the Indian army. Jat, Ratput and Sikh. Ahirs say their community has made notable contributions to the army and should have a designated regiment.
