Several gunshots were fired in New York's Times Square on Thursday afternoon, sending tourists and bystanders running for cover, police said, adding that a suspect was quickly chased down. The Fire Department said one person was taken to hospital but gave no further details. The incident took place around 3:40 pm on Thursday (local time), shortly after a parade celebrating the NBA champion New York Knicks filled the streets of lower Manhattan. Officials said about 10,000 police officers had been deployed for the event. The New York Police Department (NYPD) added that the area was crowded with World Cup visitors who have been in the city since the tournament began last week. Videos shared on social media captured the moment the shots rang out, prompting people in Times Square to run for safety. Another Trinamool Congress MP, Sushmita Dev, has resigned as a member of the Rajya Sabha, the second party MP to resign this week. Dev, a former Congress leader who joined the TMC in 2021, said that the decision to quit was her own.

Four-Storey Building Collapses In Delhi's Karawal Nagar, No casualty Reported

On 03.06.2026, at about 6:38 PM, information regarding the collapse of a house situated at Prakash Vihar, Gali No. 2, Karawal Nagar, near the adjoining Uttar Pradesh border, was received at PS Karawal Nagar. Upon reaching the spot, preliminary enquiry revealed that civil work related to the construction/repair of a nearby drain was being carried out by the concerned civic department of Uttar Pradesh in the adjoining area. At around 3:00 PM, cracks developed in a four-storey building. As a precautionary measure, the building was immediately evacuated. Subsequently, the structure collapsed. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The Fire Brigade, DDMA, and other concerned civic agencies also reached the spot. Necessary preventive and safety measures are being undertaken by the concerned agencies. Further enquiry into the matter is underway
