Crippling shortages of fuel, power, food, and medicine in Sri Lanka have triggered nearly protests across the island nation for more than a month, despite a five-day state of emergency and a two-day curfew. At least 10,000 youngsters have gathered at Galle Face, ocean side urban parks holding placards and shouting slogans outside the old parliament, demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The stretch of road looks colourful with Sri Lankan flags fluttering, slogans reverberating through the streets of Galle Face, and placards that tell the stories of oppression under the current regime.
