Japanese Man Who Spent $14,000 To Transform Into Dog Takes His First Walk

A Japanese man named Toco has transformed himself into a canine after shelling out more than $14,000 (Rs 12 lakh) for a custom-made collie costume.

The creators took 40 days to make the unusual garment but it has helped the man realise his dream of "becoming an animal."

The man has shared several videos on his Youtube channel, where he boasts nearly 33,000 subscribers. The footage shows Toco rolling on the floor and playing fetch.

The man recently posted a video of himself stepping out in public for the very first time. Bystanders were in awe of the human collie. In the five-minute video, Toco can be seen interacting with people and other dogs. Toco said that the video was filmed last year during an interview with German TV station RTL.

"Thankfully, I received permission to use the videos, so I am releasing them to the public! On the day of the interview, they were very kind to me," Toco wrote in the description.

"Do you remember your dreams from when you are little? You want to be a hero or a wizard," he wrote in the clip.

In the video, Toco can be seen behaving like a four-legged furball. Some dogs initially showed fear after approaching the human dog.

Toco has chronicled his journey on his YouTube channel. He has not revealed his identity yet in public.

In a video uploaded last year, Toco answered a series of questions. He admitted he always "had a vague dream of becoming an animal" ever since he was a child, New York Post reported.

According to local Japanese news outlet news.mynavi, Zeppet provides a large number of sculptures for movies, commercials, and amusement facilities and also produces costumes that have been seen on TV and costumes of famous mascot characters in Japan.

The entire costume is estimated to have cost more than ₹ 12 lakhs (2 million Yen) and took 40 days to make.

Iranian Chess Player Who Removed Hijab Gets Spain Citizenship

An Iranian chess player who moved to Spain in January after she competed without a hijab and had an arrest warrant issued against her at home has been granted Spanish citizenship, Spain said on Wednesday.

Sarasadat Khademalsharieh, better known as Sara Khadem, took part in the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships held in Kazakhstan in late December without the headscarf that is mandatory under Iran's strict Islamic dress codes.

Laws enforcing mandatory hijab-wearing became a flashpoint during the unrest that swept Iran when a 22-year-old Iranian-Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, died in the custody of the morality police in mid-September.

The 26-year-old has told Reuters she had no regrets over her gesture in support of the protest movement against her country's clerical leadership.

Spain's official gazette said the cabinet approved granting Khadem citizenship on Tuesday "taking into account the special circumstances" of her case.

1984 Anti-Sikh Riots: Delhi Court Summons Jagdish Tytler On August 5

A Delhi court today summoned Congress leader Jagdish Tytler on August 5 in connection with the Pul Bangash killings during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand passed the order after taking cognisance of a charge sheet in the case.

The CBI had on May 20 filed a charge sheet against Jagdish Tytler in the case.

Three people were killed and a gurdwara was set ablaze in the Pul Bangash area here on November 1, 1984, a day after the then prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards.

In its charge sheet filed before the court, the CBI said Tytler "incited, instigated and provoked" the mob that had assembled at Pul Bangash Gurdwara in Azad Market on November 1, 1984, that resulted in the burning down of the gurdwara and killing of three Sikhs - Thakur Singh, Badal Singh and Guru Charan Singh.

The agency has invoked charges under Sections 147 (rioting), 109 (abetment) read with 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), among others, against Tytler, the CBI said.

A British man has been finally convicted for stealing almost 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs a few months back. Joby Pool, accused of stealing the chocolate eggs from an industrial unit on February 11, 2023, has been sentenced to prison for 18 months. They are exclusively sold around Easter and are considered quite popular.

According to a report in The Guardian, the 32-year-old used a metal grinder to break into an industrial unit belonging to SW Group Logistics in Stafford Park and tow away the trailer containing the creme eggs. He further took away the consignment in a stolen lorry cab. After being caught, he was sentenced by Judge Anthony Lowe at Shrewsbury Crown Court. Pool has to spend 9 months in prison, following which he can take a licence for the remaining half of his jail tenure. The six months he has already spent in custody will be counted as his time in jail.

Pool has sometimes been referred to as the Easter Bunny by the police. In a Twitter thread, West Mercia Police provided an update about the attempted theft. They wrote, “West Mercia Police has helped save Easter for Creme Egg fans after almost 200,000 of the chocolate treats were stolen from a unit in Stafford Park in Telford.” Calling it an “eggs-travagent theft”, the police added, “shortly after the theft a vehicle, presumably purporting to be the Easter bunny, was stopped northbound on the M42 and a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft.”

CNN reported what Pool's solicitor John McMillan told the court: “He stopped the vehicle when he realized he was being followed. He realized that the game was up – he realized the police were behind him and pulled in when it was safe to do so.”

Pak Board Unhappy Over Jay Shah's "Shock" Asia Cup Announcement: Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its dissatisfaction over BCCI secretary and president of the Asian Cricket Council, Jay Shah announcing the schedule of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 before its own official ceremony in Lahore earlier this week. The PCB had organised an event to announce the Asia Cup schedule along with unveiling the trophy on Wednesday, July 19 evening in Lahore, which was attended by a few former Pakistan cricketers and PCB's Cricket Management Committee (CMC) headed by Zaka Ashraf.

However, half-an-hour before the start of the event, Shah announced the schedule on social media. "The PCB had a clear understanding with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) (that) it would release the schedule of the Asia Cup, five minutes after the ceremony started in Lahore. But unfortunately, half-an-hour before the ceremony started around 7.15 P.M, Jay Shah had announced it on social media," one reliable source in the board told PTI.

The source said that the decision to announce the schedule by Jay Shah had spoilt the PCB's ceremony, which was held but lost its relevance as the schedule was already out.

The source added that the PCB had conveyed its displeasure to the ACC over the incident, but was told it was all due to a misunderstanding.

"The ACC's explanation was about misunderstandings over the time difference and all that, but the thing is, India is half-an-hour ahead of Pakistan time, so Jay Shah's announcement was a shock,” the source said.

Another source in the board said it appeared as if Shah had settled scores for the unprofessional manner in which the PCB chairman Ashraf and the sports minister, Ahsan Mazari, had handled the meeting held between Shah and Ashraf in Durban during the ICC annual meeting.

"It appears as if Jay Shah settled scores after the confusion and questions he had to face over, whether he had accepted an invitation from Zaka to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup matches which was widely circulated by Mazari and the PCB in the media,” the source said.

The Asia Cup is scheduled to start on August 30 in Multan with the hosts Pakistan taking on Nepal in the tournament-opener.

The much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan, who are placed in Group A, will be held in Kandy on September 2.

Pakistan will host four out of the 13 matches of Asia Cup 2013 including the first Super 4s fixture, while the remaining nine matches including the final will be played in Sri Lanka.
