Eight cheetahs have died at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park in less than four months and now some experts are attributing the deaths to sub-standard radio collars given to these animals. While the government has denied the charges as "speculation and hearsay without scientific evidence," NDTV has accessed footage that shows authorities examining the collar of a dead cheetah. Last year, in September, India brought 20 adult cheetahs brought from Namibia and South Africa with the aim of reintroducing the animal into the Indian habitat. This has hurt Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reintroduction plan and raised several questions on whether this project was not fully thought through.
