A friend and wingmate of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode has rejected claims that caste-based remarks were made against him. Speaking about the exam-copying incident, the friend said Wakode did not speak to anyone after being taken out following the incident, leaving details unclear. The friend also said claims about caste remarks and suspension were based on speculation, arguing that there was no such culture at IIT Bombay. He added that students were not seeking the professor’s resignation unless guilt was established.
