The accused, Prashant Bankar, has been arrested in the Satara female doctor suicide case. Bankar is the son of the deceased doctor's landlord, although the key accused, Badne, who is a police officer, is still absconding. Politics has also erupted over the case, with the UBT Sena alleging that former BJP MP Nimbalkar pressured the female doctor and that Nimbalkar spoke to the deceased doctor through his personal assistant’s phone. In another major development, the Satara ASP admitted that timely action on the complaint filed by the doctor could have saved her life.
