Former US President Barack Obama rallied thousands of supporters in Detroit on Saturday, endorsing Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and the party’s wider ticket as early voting began in Michigan. Obama said El-Sayed would continue their push to reduce money’s influence in politics and expand access to affordable healthcare, building on the Affordable Care Act. The rally also featured Jocelyn Benson, the Democratic candidate for governor, as the party sought to mobilise voters ahead of the elections.
